Well the mystery deepens as I just had to run out and check my 65 F-250 from San Jose and unless they did something different for 2WD and power brakes but that firewall, fenderwells and the bracing around the master cylinder are nothing like mine. Its a nice truck but sure seems a compilation of some sort.

Can you post a picture so I can see the difference?
oh wait… I have this one, someone made me a custom battery box at some point in the past, not badly done so I'll keep it for now, notice the rounded fenderwells and flat firewall, that's a 352 2v too
I'll take some better ones tomorrow
Cheddar if I recall you have a 4 whl drive. The OP has 65-66 2 whl drive inner fenders and the bracing around the brake booster mount was 65-79. Cheddar your cab is a 64 style that Ford used on 65-66 F250 4x4 as well as the 65 F100 4x4. Ford also used the 61-64 style inner fenders on the 4x4 trucks.
Wow, I had no idea that all that stuff was holdover from 64 on the 4x4s, I thought it was only the bed. Sorry thanks for the teachable moment, MercMan good to know going forward for my own parts as well.
Cheers…

You are welcome. All of my knowledge on the 4x4 trucks was gained from this site especially TA455HO Chad as he owns two of them and has a close family friend whom has had one since new.
If I was to get a repro door data tag that matched the number on the frame, could anyone help fill in the rest of the info? I have the warranty number and model, but I dont know the rest of the info, or should I say correct info. I know its not stock, but I can get it closer to what it is than it is currently. If you can point me in the right direction that would be a big help.
3rd line: MAX GVW LBS: 07500 / CERT NET HP: 172 / RPM: 4000 / DSO: 71 or 72
What was the original exterior paint color? What was the color of the seat upholstery? What trans did it have? Rear Axle was a Spicer/Dana 60, but what was the ratio?
Rear axle ID tag may be present, if so, it's retained to the inspection cover with two bolts.
DSO (pick one): 71 = Los Angeles or 72 = San Jose.

Thanks! That is a great help. I am going to guess at some things since I have nobody I can ask about the history of it.
If it matches the colour under the seat, on the firewall and gas tank then that is likely the original colour. Post close ups in the sunlight and maybe a member here can identify it
