I am surprised nobody mentioned to the OP he can do a drop in Champion aluminum 3 core radiator and use the stock shroud as it's a bolt in replacement. For the cost I have used the Champion on my last half a dozen builds and have had nothing but great success.
I looked at Champion and actually liked what I saw. But as of yesterday, the quickest they could ship was 4/25. However, that may be okay. Even though the motor arrived today and the trans should be here by Wed, I still need to pick up a new starter and alternator anyway. I probably won't need the alternator until the 25th.
Does the radiator bolt directly to the rad support or is there a bracket welded to the rad support? The links should show some of the differences in mounting.

I just bought one from Champion through their Ebay store. It shipped same day. Was 272 for a 4 core or 172 for a 2 core.
i have a 71 f100 not a blueprint motor just a dirty old 360 but i am working on it, after reading everything here i got an aluminum 3 core off ebay for 135 shipped looks just like a champion from what i can see but i guess the real test will be once i put her together
I appreciate everyone's comments and I have learned a lot from this post.
However, it now seems that I do not even need a new radiator!
My mechanic pulled it, said it looked bad, very dirty, and he assumed quite old. He just wanted me to be cautious about putting it back in the truck with a new engine.
But....he sent it to a radiator shop, and they called this morning to say that they cleaned it inside and out, flushed it a few times, pressurized it to check for leaks, and could not find anything at all wrong with it. They said they would guess it is only 3 to 4 years old.
So, I guess at this point, I'll save a few bucks and put it back in the truck, and install the new fan shroud that was missing when I bought the truck.
