So.. I just traded in my 2004 F-150 Heritage for a 1998 F-250. My 2004 had "paddles" to release the rear seat and it flipped upwards. You pressed them again to put the seat down in the sitting position. My 1998 doesn't have any of that and I've found no way to get the seat to flip up or flip down. With a lot of looking, it looks like the seat should flip forward, but IDK. How is this supposed to work? This is what I have on the side of the back seat towards the door.
not familiar with super cabs, just CREWS.... have you tried grabbing that knurled shaft with a pair of vice grips and turning it ? Looks like something broke off the end that was retaining a handle.
Yeah, I gingerly put a pair of vise-grips on it, but it didn't turn, push or pull. I'm with you though, looks like there was something there like maybe a ****.
when all else fails , read the book............ It says the back folds down on top of the seat cushion to build a deck.. grab the strap behind the back at the top and pull out............. bottom does not move... Now what is that broken **** for ??
Yep, I looked in the manual but didn't read past page 49 as it then went into power controls (which I don't have). I'm going to have to look for that strap.. I didn't see one. It may be tucked away. I'll check tonight and report back.
Thank you. And thanks for the link to the electronic version of the owners manual.
well that explains the steel NUB......... I must have read the book too fast... I thought the BACK was going to fold down ON TOP of the seat cushion !!
