i am almost positive the pcm is burnt in my truck and i have one out of another truck that will fit but i do not know if its compatible with my transmission and engine and everything. my truck is a 1992 F150 4x4 with the 5.8 and e4od transmission. the computer i have got for it came out of a 1996 f150 2wd with the 5.8 and the AOD tranny i believe i wasnt sure but i know it was an automatic. i was afraid to put it in just yet unless i can get a little insight if its compatible. the stickers are missing on the computer for my truck but i do see a (GTE) printed on it. the one from the 96 has the stickers on it and the codes are EEC-IV EFI-SD48B on the top row. second row is F5TF-12A650-ZB the third row is 64ESB48B67 17260-24 5C14 and it has a 4 digit code up in the corner LAY1 i have no experience with computers. can anyone help
The F5TF-12A650-ZB is for a 8-351W (5.8L) Automatic Transmission E4OD transmission Without California emissions, Mass ID F5TF-ZB and it is out of a 1995 Ford Truck.
It is also a CCD PCM and your Truck takes a push-start PCM for its EEC-IV system.
So no it is not compatible.
But it may start and run your engine for testing to see if your other PCM is the problem but it will have IDM codes and maybe others also.
For the exact PCM for your truck we would need the calibration code off your drivers door B post. Attachment 283763
