Hi, all from Spokane area. I hope to be active in the future. That was some interesting reading Rob (brit_wheels_fan) Your dad was a real trooper, heading across the country looking for work like that. Obviously a lot of grit there.

You must be feeling like a flying pingpong ball.
Speaking of flying I bet your miles add up fast.
They did that trip but then I had to put my truck in the shop, blown gasket on the Vacuum pump. Had them go ahead and do the belt and idler pulleys, the fan clutch was bad also so that was done, plus I bought the larger oil cooler from Bullet Proof Diesel and had that added with an oil change. That means after I get done this hitch in Canada I'm ready to go back to Louisiana to put the turbine back together. Drive the truck tow the wife's car.
Still lurking about in Everett. So many projects....not much time for tinkering on my truck but it's hanging in there. Has all new clutch linkage with new nylon bushings and felt washers.
The crew got the case a round as they could, sent the rest to Houston for repairs, Went back to Alberta, finished another 30 days there, got home for 4 days, then I got called to go to Mexico been here since the end of June. Headed back to to the house for 3 days on the 27th to deal building permit issues for my shop then back to Louisiana on the 2nd to show someone else how to put the machine together then back to Mexico on the 7th.
Doing 2, 3000 PSI boilers, can't seem to get it through the engineers or the construction guys that they need to pay attention to the design and installation procedures or it's just not gonna work, got 2 feedwater control valves on the boilers that require 10 foot of pipe on the inlet and outlet before anything else or they will not regulate properly. Stupid design engineers put a 2 foot on the inlet and foot and 1/2 on the outlet. Doesn't work well. Now they have to cut em out, add about 50 feet of additional pipe and retest everything after the process. Oh yeah, this is X2!!
I’m still here! Just spend most of my time on the old truck forums because I bought a new project to work on. ‘56 I bought about a week and a half ago. Body is good, but lots to do in the engine bay and interior.
