Wrench light randomly comes on 2010 escape
My girlfriend has a 2010 v6 escape XLT with less that 15,0000 miles. A few months ago (winter time) is when this light first appeared just after starting it. The idle was real heavy, but if I turn off the car and back on, it doesn't pop up. A few months passed of no sign of this light or any performance problems, untill I was driving and the light turned on.
(This was a first cause normally it only came on in cold start ups.) I proceeded ro drive and I gently pushed the throttle just to get up a couple MPH to speed limit, and the RPM went from a steady 17-18...and quickly jumped to 3000, roughly shifted, and went right back down. I pulled over at that point and found out my transmission fluid was almost empty. I may have accidently put too much in, but the wrench went off, performance was normal, but my emgine light is still on. Any ideas on what things to check out to fix this random problem ould be appreciated.
ALSO...if you over fill your transmission, is it harmful? Or could I keep driving it? Thanks!
This is my first time writing a forum, so any help or ideas would be amazing! Thanks.
