No start after washing engine

2000 Excursion with a 7.3
3/27/19, I washed my engine using simple green and a garden hose. I covered the power steering cap, alternator, air filter, and batteries. I did my best to not spray directly on any electronics, but obviously they still get a little wet. Everything went well and the engine looks great. After washing, it fired right up. I let it idle in the shop for 10-15 minutes, then went for a two mile drive just to warm then engine up a little more. Returned home and parked the excursion outside. Today, I go to start it, and no start. It cranked twice, then nothing. Wait to start light comes on, battery voltage is fine, all electronics in the cab work fine, all fluids are good, no codes according to Torque Pro, yet there's no cranking. I tapped on the starter with a hammer, hoping that would help, and still nothing. It's now towed back into my heated shop for the night since it's still 25 degrees at night here. I'm hoping it's just some ice/water in a connection and tomorrow morning I plan to unplug and clean/dry everything. Just wondering if there is anything else I should direct my attention to or be worried about.
Thank you in advance.

My guess is condensation/water/ice in the starter, or maybe it just reached its end coincidentally. See what it does in the morning.

Tap it harder!!

Check for voltage to starter excite lead, if good then check voltage to big lug on starter.
If all is good start troubleshooting ignition switch/start inhibit/battery connections ect...

Update: I couldn't wait till morning to check things out. Went to the shop to attempt banging on the starter again and check the fuse box/connections for water. I found that the main power lead to the starter had apparently broken off during my drive. Simple and easy enough fix for the morning. I'm happy.
