I have a 2003 F-250, 4X4, 7.3, SC, SB without snow plow package. I bought a snow plow and want to upgrade the standard springs to OEM snow plow springs and install a steering damper. Problem is the dealer said he needs either the part number off of the spring or the spring code on the truck spec decal before he can order the springs. I have searched dealer lots but no one has a 7.3 in stock and the most of the trucks with snow plow package are gas powered. I don't think the springs would be the same a diesel because of the weight difference. I found a 04 truck with the 6.0 and gave the number stamped in the rear of the spring to the parts man but he said it wasn't a good part number. If anyone can supply me with either the part number of the spring or the spring code I sure would appreciate it. Thanks, Sam

What are you guys talking about snow for?? Oh yeah...that's right. You guys haven't figured out that you can actually move to a more desirable climate. Crazy, fozen-assed, New Yorkers!
Forty. Boats? How the hell do drive them things in the snow? ANd while I'm still here typing...does your boat have a manual motor lift or is it one of those girly electric kind?

Put the boat away last weekend, didn't seem to use it to much this year, still holding out on putting the bikes away, hell, I'm a YETI , I can stand a little cold weather!!
My front plow is waxed and ready to go, back plow pump took a crap again, so Im trying to find time to get that going again.
I feel a pain again, right around where my legs meet my back....oh it's MONSTA!!!!!!
Horseranchguy was asking what I do to get the plow ready for winter.
Hey Greg,
As far as prepping the plow for winter, I just wax the blade, seems to make the slushy stuff not stick so much.
I spray some grease on the pivot points, spray the elec connections and call it done.
To determin if you have the X springs, I believe it should have it on the door sticker. Pretty much, the truck will sit just about level with the X's
Thanks for the input Yeti. Actually, i kind of like the "messed up" version of my post - makes me look like I have real input... :-)
I'm assuming I do not have the X springs - the vehicle I have does not some with a typical plow option from the dealer (Crew Cab, PSD), and judging by the photos in my gallery (I just got it updated), my truck is definetly not level. Many thanks...

Yeti, that's more info on your & Monsta's relationship than we ever wanted to know...
I read about how you guys wax your plows, and had another thought for ya'. I spray the blades, chute, and anything that touches snow on my snowblower with lubricant from time to time... TriFlow works well, so does silicone spray. Keeps the white crap from sticking... might work out for your plows, too, in between waxings.
By the way, here's a link to what the Old Farmer's Almanac has to say about the Upstate NY region... lots of snow, very cold. You plow boys up there have your work cut out for ya'! Hopefully, it'll help keep Mosta' away... I know Yeti's worried about that pain
