Hello, I would like to know how to hear the engine rather than the fan and the transmission? I am sad not to hear enough V8 ... thank you for your help. good day and good road.
Just change your mufflers. Many vendors even have sound bites of how their different muffler models sound. Also muffler placement in your exhaust system can change the sound as well. Start out with a header pipe and muffler and dial your noise level in from there.

The engine itself isn't terribly noisy and is easily masked by the fan, so can I assume you are speaking of the exhaust sound? The exhaust sound is tuned with pipes and mufflers. You can also eliminate most of the fan roar by going to an electric fan.
Thanks your for your reply, yes my exhaust sound is not good. i look at that and change also my oil in my transmission. you say if i change my exhaust pipe for a good sound? thanks you so much
Exhaust sounds are an art form. Many variables to consider such as the size and thickness of the pipe, how many bends, crossover pipes, and the type and size of the mufflers. I think the most popular sound is a soft "rumble" without the "braaaap" on acceleration. The most popular mufflers afaik, are Dynomax, Thrush, Magnaflow, and Flowmaster. I have a 2-1/2" Magnaflow on my 254 flat six that flows into a 4" chrome stack and I love the sound. But that's me. Suggest you go to the manufacturers websites and listen to their sound bites - they will give you a rough idea.
This is my cold-blooded beast.
