if you have a scanner check EBP or EBP volts. a bad EBP or EBP connector can cause bad VGT commands. a bad electrical connection or failed sensor should throw a CEL.
different tuners work the VGT differently. i know one of my tunes sweeps the vanes from 84%-15% occasionally at idle. i would not assume anything is wrong just by having VGT at 85% at idle. if you are not overboosting (seeing 30 lbs of boost) or underboosting (lots of smoke) i think you are ok.
sometimes the EBP tube gets clogged up. try cleaning it out if you want to go that route. mine was full of soot.
One of the easiest ways to do a quick (but not comprehensive) test is to compare EBP, MAP, and Baro at KOEO. They should all be within approximately 0.5 psi of each other.
I'm having low to no boost issue. I checked my BARO, MAP, and EBP KOEO
BARO 12.2PSI/2.42v
MAP 12.2PSI/1.04v
EBP 3.3PSI/0.0v
What would be recommended? I installed a new EBP sensor last week. I cleaned the EBP tube while i was replacing my oil cooler and egr cooler over the weekend.
Well I have just finished replacing the oil cooler and egr cooler. I was getting p1335 on my egr valve si I swamped it from my other truck thinking it was causing the issue but it didn't change the boost issue. I cleaned the vgt when I had the turbo out and the veins looked good from looking through the exhaust side to the y pipe. I've only had the truck a couple of months
Every number needs "units of measure" with it. Like saying my bank account has 1000 in it. 1000 cents, dollars, etc!
In the post copied from above, you said Baro was 12.2 psiA
