I've got my first super duty, 2017 f250.... I'm looking to level and do 35s. I've heard that without a track bar relocation bracket it will ride like crap, then i hear that its fine???
My question is rather than spending the $ on the expensive kit that includes the bracket, am I able to piece together something like a body armor kit ($120) + a BDS track bar bracket ($150)?? Rather than $450 for a readylift kit.
Pro comp claims you dont need it with their leveling kit... idk why they say that. You'd think they would want to sell you their bracket. So is it necessary afterall?
I just got the Readylift kit installed on mine last friday with relocation bracket and then went right out and installed new wheels and 35's. I have to say that it rides about as close to stock as I could hope for. I did as much research as I could before making my decision. I saw where most people chose the kits with the bracket. I also saw/ read that some people chose not to and those people ended up with a lot of issues, and I read or saw very few people say they didnt use it and they had no issues what so ever. I think it will also depend on how high you go up. If your only going up an inch it probably wont matter. If your going to do the 2.5" or larger I would definitely suggest you use it. Better to spend a little more now than a lot more later. Just my .02
The bracket has very little to do with ride quality. You want that bar to be as close to the stock geometry as possible. An adjustable bar will lengthen it, but it will not correct the geometry. They make up for this with better joints/heims, etc. If you are airing your truck out in the desert you probably want a more stout adjustable bar. If you are like 99% of the lifted trucks out there a bracket will suit you better and for less cost.
the ready lift bracket is cheap and super easy to install in the driveway. might as well do it. your OCD will drive you nuts seeing one tire sucked in and one tire poking outta the fender.
Under warehouse deals...Used track bar bracket.. that's where i got mine... damaged box...132.00 free shipping Just checked they have one...Readylift wants 229.00

Thank me later!!
That's what I did. First one I got was a factory track bar bracket that somebody repainted and "returned" as a readylift one.
A drop bracket will give you a better ride than an adjustable track arm in my experience. Less bump steer from the incorrect geometry that the track bar gives you.

Did you try adjusting shorter/longer to see if it helped with bump steer? I have the Carli, and feel that you're right. I put the OEM pitman arm and track bar bracket back on to install the Carli, but it feels like I get more bump steer. I'll play with it for a while, but if making it shorter/longer doesn't remove the bump steer I'll go back to the drop downs.

Lengthening or shortening the track bar won't make much of a difference but changing the pitman arm could help. The track bar and the upper steering tie rod should be as close as possible to the same angle to avoid bump steer otherwise when the front end is compressed the steering tie rod will tug at the steering box creating the bump steer. At least this is what I learned from an off road racer and through experience with my Dodge truck. I never went down this road with my Ford knowing better.

Thx for the info. I always forget about the amazon warehouse thing.. anyways I somehow found a pro comp bracket and level kit on amazon. $90 and some change each. So $180 out the door. I couldn’t hesitate at that price and snagged them.
Not sure whats going to show up in the box tomorrow but we’ll find out then! At that price I’m only 50% confident I’m going to get the right stuff. lol.
Now to pick out some wherls and tires.. the fun part!

If you want to save a few bucks just buy the RL kit off Amazon for $308 which will include the track bar bracket relocator (lower), sway bar lowering inserts, shock mount extensions (to be able to use stock length shocks) and the bump stop extensions.
