... to hear.
I may be overreacting, but the time has come to say Arrivederci , Sayonara, Goodbye, Adios, Ciao, Hasta Luego...
My last lung surgery, March 27, 2019 marked my sixth surgery, not counting the Brain Aneurysm, and during that surgery it was discovered that the evil continues to spread within.
It has gotten a hold of my back lymph-nodes and that's when one realizes that Cancer DOES hurt! It also has made home in a major artery near the heart and IT is not safe to cut it out for the risk of bleeding out. It's just a matter of time. I'm going to miss you my FRIENDS.
I hope I am overreacting.
Paul
I'm so sorry to hear this, Paul. I hope you are overreacting as well.
Focus on your family and spend as much quality time with them as you can. If you need anything from us, we are hear for you.
Geez. Paul, this is awful news. But medicine has come so far and has given people so much more life. Let's all hope and pray for you! Remember, every day we wake up and open our eyes is a GOOD DAY! Best wish to you and your family!
You are right Paul, this was news I didn't want to hear! I will still pray for you. But if the Lord wants you to come home, it is his will. Also prayers for your family and loved ones! Cancer knows no bounds: rich, poor, good person, bad person, Christian, nonbeliever, gender, race, nationality....
Paul, thank you for your courage in facing this monster of a disease. I pray for you and your family and hope I have enough courage when my time comes. Rest easy. God Bless
I'm so sorry to hear your sad news, Paul. I've been praying for you and your family.
We always believe that our lives are in God's hands and we often take His blessings and positive outcomes for granted when we get sick or face difficulties, but because of evil in our fallen world, bad things, like you are experiencing, can and do happen.
In life's darkest moments, however, we can always take comfort in knowing that God is ultimately in control, and His will will be done. Our life in this world is always necessarily brief and may at times, as you know so well, be filled with great pain and suffering. In every trying circumstance, come what may, we can be absolutely certain that because of God's grace, heaven is our real home, and all the struggles of our temporal lives will be completely forgotten--swallowed up in Christ's Easter victory over death.
One of the most powerful sections in all of scripture is Romans 8. I encourage you to turn to it, and may God grant you peace and strength as you face these difficult days.
Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever lives and believes in me though he die, yet shall he live!" John 14:25

Keep up your faith in a good outcome... it sure couldn't hurt !!! take care friend and call on FTE if/when you need us.. we'll be there.
I'm in Orange Beach on vacation this week. My 14 year old brought two friends with her. One, lost her dad about 5 years ago in a car accident.
On the 14 hours of driving I have a lot of time to listen to music. Last year, returning home, U2's song "Tomorrow" played. It hit me hard. Bono, lost his mother at 17 and he wrote this song about it. Another song "Drowning Man" speaks of God's love for you as you struggle. Both songs are not for everyone, but they have always been a couple of my favorite songs, even when I didn't know the meaning of them.
Some lyrics from Tomorrow:
who broke the window
who broke down the door
who tore the curtain
and who was he for
who healed the wounds
who heals the scars
open the door
open the door
open up, open up
to the lamb of god
to the love of he who made
the blind to see
he's coming back
he's coming back
i believe it
Jesus coming
There are things in our lives that we can control and there are things we cannot . Friends , family , and accomplishments " ie very cool old trucks and the camaraderie that comes with that particular affliction " can never be taken away and will not be forgotten . A life well lived and enjoyed whatever the length is something to be admired and aspired too . I sincerely hope that your time is much longer than you currently feel is possible . But in any case I hope that all of our journeys are fruitfull and well remembered and wish you the best .
You're right, Paul, it is the news no one wants to hear. It is the news, however. I'm sorry for you. Hug your family and cling to them for dear life. Find joy in the small beauties and share your gifts with others. I'll be thinking about you and your battle.
