Having key fob issues with my 2012 F250. Brand new battery and confirmed that my key fob (only have 1) is transmitting a signal, however truck won’t recognize the key. It’s always worked with no issues then overnight suddenly stopped. I’ve done the programming steps with the truck (key on off 8 times) but still a no go. Is there a “receiving” module or what? Maybe my terminology is off but google wasn’t much help. Thanks
Double check that the battery you put in is actually good (maybe try another one) and is making good contact inside the fob.
The only reason I suggest that is because my 2011 fob was giving me problems with my remote start; sometimes it would crank the engine with a quick half crank then nothing (but the truck would start fine with the key). After the remote wouldn’t unlock the truck, I decided to change the battery. Has been working fine since the new battery.
I took it to a battery store and they installed the new battery and used there little machine to make sure battery was good and that the key was transmitting a signal
My fob was transmitting a signal when the battery was going bad, but evidently it wasn’t strong enough.
The batteries are available pretty much anywhere, so I’d still suggest trying a different battery. Worst case is that you end up with a spare battery. Just might save you a bunch of work/headache if that turns out to be the issue.

If the receiver module was bad, you would have TPMS codes too, since it works off the same system. I needed a new key on my truck and opted to upgrade to remote start... kit came with a new key.
Did you ever figure this out? Just picked my truck up from the auto body shop and none of my three fobs are working. Can enter program mode but none of them will program to the truck.
They do wear out and unfortunately, that happened to one of mine. If you purchase an after market fob, make sure you get one with the right transponder. I have been down that road. I purchased after market 2 Key Fobs and took them to a locksmith to be cut and programmed only to find out there were 2 different model transponders in the superduty key fobs and I purchased the wrong ones despite verifying model numbers against my truck before the purchase. Those first two were cut and they would start the motor, but they could never could be programmed to open and close the locks or start the truck remotely. After going back and ordering the right key fob with the right transponder, the locksmith was able to cut and program all functionality. So now, I have 2 that will only start the truck and one that is fully functional. Despite the added expense, it was still cheaper than one key fob from the dealer.
