Hello guys. I have a 2004 Ford F150 with the 5.4 V8. Recently I started having problems with the battery dying. It would die if left for a few days without cranking so I replaced the battery with a new battery. This seemed to correct the problem for several days. Then all of a sudden the truck was dead. I mean stone dead the electric locks would not even work. I jumped the truck and everything was fine for several days, then all of a sudden stone dead. I always leave the key in my truck and use the remote to lock and unlock the door so I was thinking that maybe I wasn't turning the key all the way off at times and this was draining the battery. I started removing the key and this seemed to correct the problem, but then I go out one morning to leave stone dead. I jump the truck off everything is fine for several days. This morning I went out unlocked the truck got some items out and left in my other truck. The battery was not dead everything was working fine. I came home at 12, about 5 hours later, and the truck is stone dead, like it doesn't even have a battery in it. I proceed to hook jumper cables to crank the truck. When I hooked the cables all the interior lights came on and the dinger started dinging, but when I turned the key it done nothing, I adjusted the cables to make sure I still had connection still nothing. No clicking, no dragging engine sound nothing. It's like it doesn't even have a starter. I checked a couple fuses but no major investigation. I am not a mechanic but I have turned a wrench or two. Any help would be appreciated.
