I'm having all new parts made for this...I'll post up some pictures for you today. I bought new bed sides, but they didn't come with the stake pockets and hinge mounting points.
That would be extremely helpful as that is my next step after I fix the bed sides. I am also going to need to find a tailgate as mine has completely rusted apart sadly.
I don't have the new rear stake pockets yet. The shop made them incorrectly, so I'm now waiting for a replacement set (should be this week). Below is a picture of the new bedside with a new stake pocket and extension panel test fitted together. This is a front pocket, so it's pretty easy and straight forward. The rear pockets will take a little more work as they have another piece of angle inside them with welded nuts to support the tailgate and the tail lights, etc.
Anyway, in case you were wondering what it looked like under the paint, this is it. I'll post up some pictures of the rear stake pockets when I get them as well as pics of the new brackets to support the tailgate, etc.
That is going to be a sweet looking bed when done.
To bad once it is all welded together you can dip them so everything has a coat of protection like inside the stake pockets and the rolled bed side lip and lets not forget the tail gate.

That is awesome to be able to see them, are you having a set for the rear built? Because both of mine the supports for the tail lights and the tailgate hinges are completely rotted out. Sadly it would be easier to just replace them entirely. My bed may get temporarily put on hold and we may swap a fleetside on just so in the meantime I can tear down the flare side and rebuild it properly. Half of the studs on the fenders were either broken or missing while we looked yesterday, and to hide all that from the inside of the box, the previous owner line x over the entire inside, wood and all. So now we're having to try and remove this over the studs and bolts and it's a bit of a nightmare.

Yes, they should be ready for me to pick them up tomorrow. The shop made me a set already, but they screwed them up, so they're making me a new set.
I'm hoping to weld it all together next weekend if all goes well. I have to also make the insert pieces for the rear so I can bolt the tailgate hinges on and the tail lights, etc.
Wow that is a lot of work to have to redo those rear stake pockets and of course its mine that are rotted out. Now I wish someone did make new ones for us as that would simplify things for me.

When you do this can you show some pictures of the insert pieces? It would be greatly appreciated.

Yes sir, no problem. It's basically just a piece of 16ga (1/16") angle that is 10" long by 1" by 1 3/8" that is spot welded inside of each rear stake pocket. There are four nuts welded to it on the inside. Two for the tailgate, and two for the rear cross sill. I'll be making new ones later this week. Instead of welding nuts in there I'm just going to make little square pieces out of 1/4" plate and weld them in place and the drill and tap them later when I reassemble the bed. In any case, I'll post up some pictures of them.

Cory, remember there should be 6 holes: 2 for gate, 2 for the rear sill, 2 for the light brackets.
They are also metric if you want to get picky
I was lucky mine were not rusted out, think I had 1 bolt broken and I was able to use a pick to screw it out. I then ran a tap thru every hole and got new bolts & washers.

Yes sir, there are indeed 6 holes in total, but I was only referring to the little angle piece that is spot welded inside the stake pocket, and it only has 4 nuts welded to it. The two nuts for the tail light brackets are actually welded to the stake pocket itself. If you look inside the rear stake pockets you'll see the little angle piece. One side is facing the rear sill, and one side is facing the tailgate hinge.
Oh Ok got it.
I never looked that close at them but I can see why only them 4 as they have the most strain on them.
Waiting to see the next set of pictures.

I also look forward to the photos, this forum has been great and extremely helpful with a truck I never knew much about. It has also helped the gentleman doing the bodywork on my box to see some of what needs to be fixed and how to do some of it.
I'm a little slow getting to this, but this is what I'm doing to replace the little bracket inside the rear stake pockets.
The pictures below are looking at the bottom of the right rear stake pocket.
This one shows the nuts welded on the inside. Two for the rear cross sill, and then you can see the other two further up inside for the tailgate hinge.
I had new pieces made to go inside my new stake pockets. They are 1" X 1 3/8" X 10" long. I'm just going to weld on little 1" square pieces of 1/4" steel plate instead of nuts. I will just drill and tap them when I fit the sides together with the rear sill.
One of the main reasons I am waiting until after to drill and tap them is that I want to ensure that the tailgate is mounted both level and square with the left and rear bed sides. So I will lift the tailgate and hinges in place and then mark the holes for the hinges and drill and tap.
