S&B CAI kit

S&B CAI kit
Now that I have the S&B installed for a few days I thought I would share a few observations. First off it's very well engineered and at a reasonable price. Installed easily in about half an hour. The air box is sealed with fresh air from the factory location and a clear cover which can be left off. I would add that i use an SCT Livewire for tunes and monitoring. Here is what is noteworthy - if you want that old time "4 Barrel sound" just leave the cover off, but IAT's will definitely climb upwards of 100 degrees from the underhood air temps. Cover on, trusk is a bit more responsive and IAT's are close to outside air temps. In either case, filtration is definitely better than stock.

Glad to hear you're happy with it. Keep in mind, the stock airbox you replaced was a CAI as well.
Marginally - the stock paper filter meets at least 98.5% efficiency standard in coarse dust testing. On S&B's website, they state 99% efficiency.
OEMs do't leave anything on the table these days as far as efficiency from intakes.
