Hey all, I was wondering if anybody had a spare stock air cleaner cover around that they would like to sell? My 87' has a rock-well automotive "high performance" cover now, but it's the type that has the soupbowl that you can't cut off. So anyway if one of yous could help me out let me know. Thanks in advance as usual, Dale
Well, I kinda' hate to do this to ya' Banks7.3, but I'm gonna' anyway....
I have one of the ones that NEVER had the soup-bowl. Flat bottom from the factory. I'll not only trade you, I'll pay the shipping charges for you to send me yours as well as the shipping charges to get mine to ya, yamaguy....
well now you guys got me wondering if the one I have is better than a stock one with the mod. Whats the deal?
My deal is that I already have more than one stock cover and would like to experiment with one of these aftermarket ones to see which is better with different types of filters.....
sounds good cheaper, the only thing is that you have to move fast because I think that a new truck is in the near future (like 2 or 3 days) so I will pm you my info. Hey just wonderin you want to buy the whole truck, you seem to be collecting them as of late

Well, I plan on shipping it tomorrow, but the only issue is that UPS isn't going to be able to get it from Washington State to Illinois in 2-3 days. Not this time of year anyway. I may be able to send it 3-day or maybe even 2-day service. I'll let you know tomorrow.
Same problem with being interested in the whole truck - how to get it from there to here. Not to mention that my wife would KILL me if I even suggested it.
I just checked on shipping. UPS ground is ony $10 - but it will take 6 days. 3 day air is $27, 2 day air is $35. The return charge by ground is another $10.
Any way you slice it, unless I can ship it to you ground (and you can wait 6 days to get it) it will cost more to ship both ways than it would to buy one.
So, I'll let you tell me what to do. Can we do this by ground shipment? Otherwise I guess I'll have to pass. Let me know ASAP....
I get 15.5 empty on the highway doing 70 and about 2800 rpm's with a 4.10 rear. from what I can tell from what everybody says they rev at speed it is like having a 6-c with a 3.55 when i'm in high. I leave it in high all the time when empty, and only put it in low when I have to to keep speed up on the highway. The truck is i excellent shape no rust just some paint fade, peeling on the hood. trans is solid, and the motor is as well I belive. I just don't want to deal with it if it is not.
Got 'er shipped off yesterday Yamaguy. Expected delivery date is 12/21/06....
I'd sure like to get my paws on one of those OD units. Best of both worlds. Most of the ones I've looked at say they are 20% overdrive. So with 4.10s in low range you actually get the equivalent of 3.41s in high range. Even a little better than having 3.55s. Sounds about perfect to me....
cool I'll keep an eye out for it. It is 20% over. If you want to come and take it out give me a price and come on over to Joliet, you can crash here. I just bought a 2003 f-350 xlt crew-cab long bed 4x4 7.3 psd last night. It is sweet.
