Hey all, I have a odd sort of problem. Seems my dashboard lights and A/C control panel lights all go out intermitantly. Radio is aftermarket and not affected. The lights don't flicker like its a loose wire that is wiggling. Its more like they are on or off. The position of the headlight switch does not affect the lights at all. In all respects the headlight/ dimmer switch is fully functional. I am not blowing any fuses so I don't believe it to be a power problem. I think its more along the lines of a bad ground. Like i said before the lights don't flicker so I don't suspect a loose wire. Any ideas on where to begin? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You could do the old "take it apart and put it back together" trick. Take the dash out, un-plug and plug everything back in, and it might fix your loose connection.
Update : I now have total failure of instrument lights. Are the instrument lights fused in the fuse block? There is a fuse socket that is empty, and not sure what to do. Any help will be greatly appreciated as I don't like being in the dark.
Thank you for that link Dave. Turns out the fuse was bad. I had inspected all of them before. The 5 amp one looked like it was good. No burn marks and no break in the line. Looked good till I tested it with the meter. Thank you again for the help Dave.
