After I scraped, pressure washed, and wire wheeled the 1/2 inch of dried stinky oil off the 223 in my 56 f250, I was surprised to learn it was yellow with a silver valve cover. What are the correct colors? Would Cat yellow be close enough? What paint did you guys use? Does the silver need to heat tolerant also?

Yellow with silver valve covers with the accessories like starter, generator, air cleaner, etc are the correct colors.
I painted my Valve covers argent silver. It does not need to be high heat resistant.
There are 55-56 owners that know what color yellow to use and will be here to help soon.
