So... after reading this post from biz4two about octane, what octane are you guys using? I've run nothing but 87 in mine since day one. I have noisy injectors but figured it was just a characteristic of the DI engine.

I've been using mid-grade (89 Octane) in my '17 3.5 EB since day one. Hot, cold, towing, not towing. Seems to work just fine. My one unscientific test took place when I had to tow a 3700 pound car on a two axle transporter. It was 250 miles each way in 80 degree weather mostly on Interstate. I ran mid-grade going one way and premium going the other way. I saw no difference in fuel mileage or performance. Like I said - unscientific. Maybe if I had been up near the towing limit and in hotter weather there would have been a difference. Oh, and pulling that trailer I was getting 11 mpg.

I use 87 octane most of the time, except when towing I will put in 91 octane. I've not had any issues whatsoever.

I thought all the stock Ford gasoline engines that come in the F150 could run on 87. Is yours a special edition/supercharged/etc?

I tend to run mid-grade...but sometimes I do premium or 87.

With the gas prices low as they are at the moment, I've been running premium for the last several months.

Manual said 87 so I used 87. For the vast majority of engines, putting in 89 won't make a difference.

I have run 93 and 87 in mine, and I haven't really noticed any difference. If I end up getting a tune, it will definitely be a 93 octane tune.

I run premium because I feel the engine sounds/performs better when being lugged down the road.
