Speaker Wiring question
My 1986 F250 has no original speaker wires left. I've run new wires to the doors with new speakers. How do I wire the new dash speaker so I get the same amount of right and left channel(stereo audio)? Do you connect both the right and left channels to the dash speaker or would that "overload" it? I can't find a diagram for a single cab truck with two door and one dash speaker.

Some of the classic truck places sell a 6x8 or 6x9 speaker that is a flat piece with two small 3 1/2 speakers mounted in it and it mounts in the original location in the dash. You could easily make this yourself using a thin piece of plywood and buying two 3 1/2 speakers to mount in it. Then you would have a place for the left and right front wires to go.

For simplification you can wire front right and front left to a single dual voice coil 5x7 (6x8 is essentially same size). Crutchfield has them, so does Amazon. Crutchfield Site
