6.7 computer fried please help

Hey everyone so I just bought a 2012 f250 6.7 deleted and I bought the truck about a week ago and put maybe 100 miles on it and noticed it shifted really hard to the guy i bought it from had a stage 3 sct tune on it and I wanted to make it shift lighter so I returned it to stock and keep in mind the truck is deleted so I tried to start it and nothing just blank so 8 warnings came up and now I only have a radio in my new truck and the scanner is not even talking to the computer so I called the guy i bought it from and he said I fried the computer so I bought a new computer but I'm scared it has to be reprogrammed what should I do. I know nothing I've done is right so all I'm asking is for your help not criticism thanks

Dealer... computer must be paired to the truck... keys must be paired to the computer

and returning to stock. should NOT have fried the computer.

but with deletes... stock is a problem.

reinstall old computer and CALL the tuner maker for help..

Yes returning to stock is fine if it was not deleted but it is and then I tried to start it and that's where I really screwed up and I've already called sct and the only thing he could tell me was that it was a federal offense

comes down to "WHAT" killed it...... aka No Start...

no start = keys being locked out... or failed computer.. or both.

it was not legal to sell a reprogrammer... not legal to alter EPA stuff on your truck.. ( I am not blaming )
and EPA fault waiting years before going after them.. ( all of them )

you might be Forced to have truck towed to dealer.. them get the "SYSTEMS" up and worked.. then start the truck..
and See what other issues to face.

What killed it was stupid me trying to start a deleted 6.7 that was returned to stock and now the only thing I have in the truck is a radio and power windows and when I plug in the sct tuner it doesn't even show the vin number and it will not reprogram the truck

a deleted engine will not cause a computer to LOCK DOWN... just generate a lot of error codes.... but should start...

even with a stock tune.

I've never played with the tuner, so I don't have any great suggestions for you. I'm going to move this down to the 6.7 L forum, though… You should get some better responses down there. Have you contacted the manufacturer of your tuner?

You need to contact the tune writers, not SCT.

Like others have said, you returning to stock did not kill the computer. As stated, it should start or attempt to start, but with multiple codes. Have you checked to see if the OBDII port still has power? Does the SCT tuner power up?

Have you checked the fuses under the hood in the battery junction box? Have you checked fuse 33 or 72 under the hood?

How about Fuse 24 in the BCM in the passenger area kick panel. This is the data link fuse (OBDII).

With how much you’ve been playing and troubleshooting, what’s your voltage down to?

I think, unfortunately, the best advice maybe a dealer visit to get it running.

Where is all the emissions stuff? did the previous owner give it too you?

Now days it seems the sellers of deleted trucks are keeping the tuners and selling them instead of giving them to the buyer of the truck (dealer or individuals). They seem to throw away the items removed such s the DPF or EGR cooler. Seems more and more deleted trucks are coming on the market and the new owners are having issues with them.

Since it's deleted, the dealer can't really help you. I highly doubt your computer is fried. The dealer only knows how to work on STOCK trucks, and if yours is returned to stock, it's not going to start anyways since it's deleted. The tune writer is the solution... Check all the things that Larry suggested as well.

I bet a dealer will not even give it a shot to fix your truck. Ford is not in the business of fixing software written buy someone else. They can return the truck to stock maybe but before you drive it you have to get a new tune. This is the reason NOT to buy a deleted truck. Sorry you are having so much trouble. It will cost $$$ to return the truck back to running condition.
Unlike what Chuck said it is illegal to remove all the EPA mandated smog stuff from your truck. It was mandated by federal law which means it's a federal offense. With that being said if you don't live in a smog state than you will get away with it. If you live in a smog you will not. If you get caught they could fine you and they will impound your truck.
