i would like to know about a 4.2 also. i have found one for sale pretty cheap. is it an easy install? is it worth it? i would like the goods and bads of actual experiences.
Waste of money. They are easy to install and have absolutely no positive effect.
Some will whistle and some dont. I have heard that turning the whistling TBS 90* will make it stop, but dont know this for sure.
Would I buy another......nope.
Im with Jeremy. I put one on mine and I didn't feel any power gains. The people that produce the throttlebody spacers claim that the spacer produces a vortex that maximizes air/fuel mixture. Good idea, but it won't work unless the vortex actually flows through the heads themselves, which it doesn't. I enjoy the whistling sound though. Makes people turn their heads sideways and give a confused look. Hope this helps.

Hey will-work-for -mud. What type of throttle body spacer do you have. I might install one just for the sound. Also did you get one of those supertuners for programming the chips in your car or did you just get the chip?
shivic, The throttlebody spacer I got was the Helix Power Tower from JC Whitney. It's easy to install. Took me about 30 min to put it in and I was taking my time. The Diablo Sport chip I bought from Motorhaven.com is just a chip that you slide into the computer of your truck. I didn't feel a really big difference in hp but I definitely felt a change is shift points. This winter I am regearing my truck to 4.10:1 so I am gonna send it back to them, so they can reprogram it to all the mods I have done to my truck. Also to recalibrate my speedometer. You can find those supertuners online for $300 now. So if your expecting to do a lot of different mods at different times then I would probably go with that. If you are planning to put headers on your truck then your computer will need to be tuned because it will make your check engine light come on. You can also recalibrate your speedometer if you plan on bigger tires or regearing. Hope this helps.

I installed an Airraid intake and TB spacer at the same time on my 02 5.4 supercab and you can really hear the air being sucked into the engine. Sounds alot better than stock.
Yes I installed a K and N intake system the other day. The spacer I just ordered on JC Whittney. I jues I am going for sound and maybe squeeze a couple HPs out of it.
How about Gibson headers, easy job or a pain. It looks a little tight in there.
Yeah, I like the sound of the air being sucked in to the engine. Mine doesn't sound like a whistle, though. I guess its like exhaust tone, everyone has a different opinion.
I do have a K and N filter sytem. I am not going to remove that. You think I am that stupid, JeremyH? I am a Rookie when it comes to working on cars and Trucks. But I am not an idiot.
