I'm in the process of working on my 52 Mercury M3 and I have Grundy now but am restricted on my driving options. Just wondering what company others are using. I have a 32 3 window that I'm wanting to keep on Grundy. I'm now paying $500 a year for both which I know it will go up on regular insurance. Will the added options make a difference (IFS, 4W disc brakes, 350 SBC motor).
Thanks in advance

I thought that Hagerty was more limited than Grundy as far as mileage and where you can go. Being a pickup with a 8' bed I was wanting to use it to pickup steel and sheet goods.
Thanks

Don I had a similar conversation with Hagerty when I first got insurance in early 2016. Usage beyond driving down the road to get ice cream was certainly a "gray" area. Ultimately, they said I would always be covered if I was using the truck "within the boundaries of the hobby." I was given examples of "pulling an antique boat" or "putting a tractor on the back to bring to shows" or "picking up parts" at the local store. The biggest no-no was using the truck in an instance where the utilization created a profit. Think: plowing, hauling anything for someone for a fee, using it to carry away trees for your tree company, etc. Otherwise they were very flexible. They said to "use common sense." I laughed at that last one.

I was looking at a 56 f800 big job with a 5th wheel. I checked with Hagerty abot insurance on it and if it would be covered towing an enclosed trailer a couple times a year with either my 56 inside the trailer or parts for swap meet and they said yes! She had to call corporate because it wasn't a normal question. The only reason they'd cover it was because it was hauling vintage related auto stuff and not home improvement lumber. I didn't buy the rig so do your own checking

I have both my trucks with State Farm bundled with our two daily drivers and my son's car, which he pays his share. It is dollars per month. For my 54 they took pictures and they know I wouldn't be using it for a daily driver and it is parked in our garage. My 55 is cheap also even though I haul m y lawn mower and brush and make dump runs, etc. I am not sure what the cost is for both since the wife pays the bill but it is minimal.
A dis-satisfied Hagerty ex-customer. Insured my 68 Galaxie and 79 F150 with them. They sent an insurance card for a 78 F150. Wanted to charge me $40 to issue a correct card (which they did) I refused to pay the $40 for their mistake. Come renewal time the wouldn't renew the policy. (no accidents or claims)
Thanks for all the info. Grundy said no trips to a store or to work even though in the document none of that is stated. They don't have a mileage limit. You must keep in under roof which a lot of time I have to pull it out of the shop to work on other projects and my yard is full of big oak trees. I have Allstate on my daily drivers but if I call them they will make me have them insured with them (worst insurance company there is.)
Thanks

I think Hagerty restricts driven to work too. They encourage you to let your kids of age to drive classic vehicles for a show or icecream but not to school
I had Allstate for many years. Then switched to the Hartford through AARP. I ended up paying for 1 year what Allstate charged for 6 months. This Summer I plan on seeing about antique insurance through them. Have 5 vehicles licensed. My 89 SW put less than 1000 miles on it last year.
Another place I looked at "Save-a-Lot Auto Insurance" wanted me to insure all my vehicles and my house to get antique vehicle insurance trough them.
