Plugin Hybrid F250

Interesting option for fleet vehicles. Essentially weighs as much as a Diesel, I'm guessing it'll get about 25-30mpg? No idea on cost, but doubling the mpgs of the pretty bad 6.2L is awesome.

Sweet, I just converted my mountain bike to a 1,000w 16ah electric beast. Knowing how much that little conversion cost I'm willing to bet its going to be pretty astronomical for the F250

Who said anything about double mileage? I have replied to this topic before as we have a few of these conversion trucks in the fleet. The claim XL makes is up to 50% better mileage. Take a standard fleet truck that gets a solid 9.4 mpg and you get a truck that gets 14.1mpg. The system has its quirks, most the timing on the electronic motor takes up the backlash in the trans to fast and gives you a bump sensation.

Ahh, I must've just misread some of the comments on that page. The article H20 linked says the plugin hybrid is $25k....gonna be hard to justify that ROI, but for companies with guys driving around all day every day I bet it makes sense financially down the road.
