I think I have the opposite problem that most folks do. Most all the threads I've seen are trying to get the glow plug system to work at all. In my case, the controller and such seem to work perfectly, the time on the WTS light seems right, and the engine starts, except it's my guess that the system afterglows and never stops. So, every couple of seconds, all the lights dim (headlights, dash lights, other interior lights) and the voltage meter bounces. It's annoying and I'm concerned about it causing potential engine issues. What would cause the system to afterglow indefinitely?
I just replace my glow plug controller for after cycling. It is the controller it's self. It is not registering the coolant temperature and stopping the cycle after it is complete. Replace controller, and problem solved. Also yes this could cause serious engine issues. Such as heating your glow plugs up until they swell. Which is super bad.
