On a 93 7.3 is the glow plug controller supposed to be clicking on and off after a few seconds? We just replaced it because it wasn't working at all. Now it works great but after about 10 seconds it starts clicking. When it cranks up it goes on and stays on for about 30-45 seconds like it should. Just wondering if this is normal.

once the light goes out,start the truck.the glow plugs will continue to glow (the ticking off/on that you hear,you'll also see the lights dim/brighten if they're on too of course) to help keep the truck idling smooth and stay running.
