It Happened

Hello everyone I'm pretty new to the forum but ill dive into it.
Purchased a 2013 F350 about 9 months ago. Some history i deleted the truck about 500-1000k miles ago. Yesterday i hopped in the truck after letting it warm up and decided to change my tune from basic to performance to see if it would shift any better (i had never taken it out of the basic tune) (this is also purely coincidental as to what happens next)( just want to state the facts) Right off the bat truck runs smoother and shifts great. 15 miles latter rolling down the freeway 60MPH, truck just rolls to 79,002K on the clock. Then out of nowhere THROWS A ROD. Yup just like that no sign of error nothing, no oil leaks, no codes. Not to mention the truck has never been been down before (in the 20k miles i owned it) just oil changes and regular maintenance. Im in disbelief. Anyone else have blown motors at lowish milage?

That's terrible. What's the plan going forward? How much is the repair likely to be?

I used to work as a mechanic before I opened a business transporting freight so luckily I left with good terms and my old boss let me use his shop discount with ford. I went with the new motor route specifically because it will be the most current up to date 6.7l ford offers, the stamp on the block is 2019 and it will have the upgraded turbo, injectors, high pressure pump, and what ever else is updated already installed. Complete drop in.
