currently have a couple of duracell batteries 880 CCA in truck. not sure how old, there were in truck when i got it in july 2105, there is a sticker on the shows M-1 not sure what M is if you use A-1, B-2 then M is 13th month.. and the 1 I am guessing is 2011.. just wondering how old these are..
I screwed this winter and let them get down to 12.2 volts and tried to crank.. should have put on charger let sit before starting. SOOO now they wont hold a charge.. will drop from 12.5 to 12.3 in several hrs fo just sitting hooked up with all the parasite loads you have on nowadays.
any help appreciated... going to be some MAXX 65 at walmart on tue.. check date code and they have 2/19..
that what I am thinking.. just wondering how old to gauge the quality of them..I now have TWO of the harbor freight small battery tenders so I will not be with out one.
that makes sense.. december 2011 most likely.. still not bad for a set of batteries.. that is some 7 yrs more or less. but that it a past memorie now..
Got me two brand, (2/19) date code MAXX 65 from Walmart.. Before the batter voltage was 12.4 after a while of sitting and then key on for GP drop to like 12 or 11.8.. when cranking it would drop to 10.6 but the truck would turn over for 3-5 seconds while starting.
now it stays at 12.6, with GP on 12.5 and crank 12.4, alt voltage is showing at 14.3 to 4 so all is well.
