Few E40d an speedometer questions

every now an then I get speedometer code not often. It’s a new sensor motor craft. Speedo seems to be reading accurately an no bounce, I know I need to go threw the wires but could it be the psom if everything seems to work? Also my favorite code 62 I’ve tried everyone’s suggestions on that still nothing so I guess I need a new converter. Where’s the best place to get one for a reasonable price I have a 1993 F250 7.3idi n/a 4x4. Also pros an cons to zf5 swap. Price do to it? Proper way to do it? Could I use my transfer case or need a new one An drive shaft? Thanks again. Also any help on things to check for code 62 before I change converter would be nice

A bad reading on the speedo signal can cause a code 62. Fix that problem and you may also solve the code 62 problem.

Yeah that damn 62 converter slip code if you sneeze too hard lol.A new converter wont change the slip code if it's electrical related.Eliminate all known issues first.Yes,the problem can be a bad VSS either faulty or dirty.A bad tone ring in the rear (not likely) bad wiring to the PSOM or the PSOM itself.Any bounce in the speedo needle, the trans might trip 62 for sure.In fact it's highly likely when you fix that, you'll get no more slip code......But I'm not making any promises.

Going to run new wires for speedo this weekend or during the week if we can ever get it to stop raining lol. Is there anyway to tell if it’s the psom? Any tests that can be ran?
