Just a few opinion based questions. Getting started on this 76 w/460 project and wanted to hear your thoughts.
1. Dump the cruise control
2. Dump the AC
3. Dump the emissions stuff (boy there's a lot of debate about this on this site!!)
My main focus is to get it up and running. I wont use the cruise or AC anytime soon so, I figured I would eliminate these items to reduce headaches!! Ill keep everything labeled and appropriately stored for now.
I see you are in TX. I would not dump the A/C! You may decide in future you want it. If you tear it out, you'll need a lot more incentive to put it all back in if you can even find the pieces by that time. Aside from that if you ever sold the truck, being in TX having all the components intact could increase its value.
I specifically looked for a truck with factory A/C and plan to get it working.....and I live much further north than you. Never had A/C in my trucks when I drove them everyday back in the 80s and 90s but guess I got spoiled over time.
