Tire performance question
My 2013 Lariat has Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenze P275/55/20 tires. They seem to do fine in the snow ( I was wondering about that) , but they don't look very aggressive compared to what I normally buy. I spend 90% of the time on the road, and it does snow 2 months out of the year. Wondering about getting more aggressive tread ( but not radical) when the time comes. Truck gets GREAT MPG.. just wondering if someone has done this or gone the other way and has real world difference in MPG afterwards ?

It all comes down to personal preference. I prefer to have tires that will do well in bad conditions - heavy rain, snow. While I have dedicated snow tires, I prefer a more aggressive tread for bad conditions when I don’t have the snow tires on. I don’t think the mpg difference is that significant. I’d rather lose, say, 1 mpg to know that I’ll be ok in bad conditions.

It depends on what kind of snow driving you are talking about. Is it:
- snowy weather with mostly-plowed roads?
- snowy weather with snow-packed streets?
- snowy weather in the back roads where plows seldom go?
- snowy weather in the back roads where plows seldom go with three-foot drifts and no cell signal?
- etc.
