I have a 2004 with a 5.4L Triton. The Excursion has dual heaters. I found a leak in the water pump bypass tube; runs from the back of the water pump through a nipple on the block, through the engine valley, under the intake manifold, from the front to the back of the engine. I am trying to locate where the tube ends up connecting to the heater hoses on the back side, firewall, of the engine without removing the intake initially. With dual, front and back, heaters there appears to be several possibilities around the firewall. I am also curious to know if the tube has more than one connection at the rear of the engine or if it is only one as shown in pictures of the replacement part? Thanks in advance for any help.
It goes into the firewall at the heater core.
Comes out of the tube you are talking about then T off to the back. The rear hose goes under and the front goes to the heater core.
Not certain if this is what you are asking.
You should be able to follow the hoses to where they go.

Thank you for the input. I am checking will get back soon. If anyone has a picture of which of the hoses the tube connects to I would appreciate them. I am attempting to bypass the tube running through the valley of the motor as I suspect it is leaking. I cut one end of the tube behind water pump and installed a piece of 5/8" heater hose. Ran the 5/8" under the intake manifold and used a reducer to go up to the 3/4" needed to hook up to the "T" by the fire walI. Even though all of the drawings I have looked at show that the tube is one in and one out my is not. There has to be a Y or T under the intake manifold somewhere and I haven't been able to find the other end. Thank you for the help.
