Coolant Return Tube

Has anybody ever replaced the metal coolant return tube connected on the backside of the water pump through the underside of the intake manifold, to the hose that attaches to the heater hose outlet, as shown in page 2, top picture on the left?

I ordered the following parts, and was wondering is there anything else I'm missing...IE gaskets, o-rings, any special tips or tricks. It looks like the intake manifold has to be removed, any help would be appreciated.

The parts were ordered today and won't be in until Tuesday or Wednesday.

(1) #4C3Z-18663-CA Heater Tube - Long tube that goes from the other end of the hose on page 2 (top left picture) to the water pump.

(1) #F75Z-8555-AA Tube Assembly - this piece has the fitting that goes into the back of the water pump and attaches to the tube.

(2) #N811415-S309 Stud - these are what hold what looks like tabs on the tube at the back of the block (these were ordered just in case).

You MIGHT be able to snake it out with the alternator removed...

That's all I have to contribute, sorry.

Thanks, appreciate the input, the tube and adapter showed up today, but the studs and intake gaskets will be in tomorrow.

I'll take a closer look, but the biggest problem is getting to the backside behind and below the last cop between the firewall and block where it bolts on and clamps to the hose in the illustration on page 2.

Got the new tube all done today, what a PITA, the entire intake manifold had to be removed.

Here is the offending part, the first picture is the tube, and the next is a close-up of the hole. The tube has a return nipple opposite the hole, the sediment in the system actually sand blasted the hole.

The last picture is the tube on the backside of the water pump.
