Control lever question

What does the lever that says "Front, Fuel, Rear" do? It's on the controls for the heater/ac.The three other levers control temperature, fan speed, & location(dash, vent). My truck has a single tank.

It's for the fuel tanks, switches the tanks and the dash fuel gauge from one tank to the other.

If your truck has a single tank (with only one fuel door), the heater control panel was replaced. Whoever replaced it, probably couldn't find a panel w/o the switch.

1973 was the first year that had the fuel tank switch located in the heater control panel.

Thanks!
So, the heater control panel in my truck isn't original to it(as I have a single tank). The reason I asked was because I got a heater control panel at the my friend's junkyard(because the cables I needed are still attached to it & they're too hard to get off), it didn't have the switch & I didn't know what it did. So instead if trying to get the cables off the one from the junkyard, I'm going to replace the whole panel.

Does your truck have the original bed on it? I know up here in the land of rust, it is really common to replace the bed, and turn a dual tank truck into a single tank truck.

As far as I know it has the original bed. The bed had the same faded color and rust spots as the cab, before we put bondo & pain't on them.
The truck set on farm for years before my mom bought it in 2012, & before that I don't know it's history.
