I have a 77 that only has the in cab tank thus I would not have a switch. Where would be a good place to find this part? I have looked at a few places so far and I cannot find the dash panel that has that cut out. I have found the switch though.
the fuel tank switch was part of the heater control. it has nothing to do with the entire panel. the extra sliding switch is on the right side of the heater control. look in trucks 73 and up. i have pulled them from 73's 75's and 79's. my 75 is setup like this. so just grab a new heater control panel with the 2nd tank feature.
If I remember correctly. Look at the back of the heater control where the tank switch would go you can (faintly) see where the slot for the switch goes. I drilled it out and cleaned it up with small file and put the switch in my existing heater control. You also have to drill small hole for the screw that hold the switch. I've done this to couple of trucks I have had. One truck did not have duel tanks so I used the side of the switch that powers the tank solenoid (two prong side) to run a relay for my offroad lights.
