Looking to purchase a new 5er. Considering Montana, Pinnacle, North Point, and Vilano. What are the thoughts good or bad. Looking to full time in a couple of years.. We have a Montana now.
If you are happy with your Montana dealer and unit itself then maybe stay with them, dealer experience counts for a lot when taking the rv back for repairs.
We have been full-time in our Grand Design Reflection (smaller than what you want, I think) and GD's customer service has been outstanding. They've even authorized mobile techs for warranty repairs when a dealership wasn't an option. I've also known folks who full-time in Montanas and that company also seems to take good care of their owners. Build quality between the two manufacturers is similar. I'd say pick a floor plan that suits your purposes best, keep in mind the dealership you'll be working with, and get what you like.
After a little stair climbing today. We found 4 that we like. The Montana 3700/3701 rear kitchen. A Vilano 385rd and a Solitude St375res-R. When the time comes it will be the best price we can find. Wife loves the real wood, but does make for a heavy coach.

We have a 17 North Point 387 which has similar floorplan as Solitude and Vilano. Tons of storage and 3 separate ‘rooms’ is what it feels like. After packing everything we still had untouched storage space. We really did not realize how long it was until we got it home. Since it is raised on each end the kitchen stays a little cooler in the winter. The 2 ac’s keep it cool in the summer. Good luck in your decision.
Here's a question most people don't think of when rv shopping. Is the whole coach easily accessible with the slides in? Including the kitchen and washroom. Do yourself a favour and ask the salesman to close up the coach for you so you can see how useable it is with the slides in. Our 337 is totally accessible with slides in and mobile island in its parking spot. The wife and I won't have another one unless it has this feature.
We looked at them all and decided on the Pinnacle based on fit and finish. Vilano was right there too, but much more expensive and heavy. We didn't like the design and fabric of the Solitude but they are good units. We have a 2019 Pinnacle 36KPTS on order. It is going to be an April build and will be here sometime in May. Just pick a floorplan and decor you like and go from there...
