Hello All. I was on my way for an oil change on my 2017 F150 at the dealer when the car in front of me hit a bucket of yellow paint. I must have driven through a patch of it because there was a little bit on the front black plastic trim which cleaned off pretty easily but there is a lot in the wheel wells and on one side all along the flat underside of the truck. This paint does not seem to want to come off as easily. Any suggestions on what I can safely remove this with. Thanks a lot. Raleigh.
frames have coating. I would try a pressure washer.. I bought a HF one 5 years ago that's been great. They are $77 right now and you can control the nozzle. mines been great.. just remember to turn on the water first or the GFI will trip and not let it run...
If it was actually the road striping paint, it will NOT come off. Years ago, my dad rsn over an unmarked wet line on the highway. The car had to be repainted along the rocker. The wheel well received undercoat spray to hide it.
Road stripe paint is awful. Try a specialist that does paint correction. There are are ways to remove it spot by spot. If it's in your fender liners, you will need to replace them.
Thanks for the suggestions. I did not think about just replacing the wheel well liners. I actually installed the rear ones myself. I guess I could also just remove and try painting and reinstalling. I also have a body guy who works from a shop at his home nearby and I will see what he thinks. I am not sure if it was road paint or not. It was at highway speed and all the sudden the car in from of me swerved and a saw a big splash of yellow paint in the air with no time to react. There wasn’t any road painting crew around.
