The reality is, Ford, nor any other manufacturer has found a price point that folks aren't willing to pay. It's just silly to not keep reaching for that number from a business perspective. Next up will be the Limited Unlimited Limited Platinum model, sticker starting at 135K, and yep, someone will buy it.

There are times when I think, should I have gotten the Lariat when the STX/XLT would be just as capable?...But I too fell for the draw of all the fancy toys on board, but the $$$'s kept me from going any higher, thank goodness.

Higher priced packages are actually intended to help increase sales prices and volumes of the lower and middle trim lines as much as they are to increase profits through direct purchases of the higher trimmed vehicles. The higher priced models (a) establish the brand as a premium offering and (b) make lower trimmed vehicles appear cheaper, because of course, relative to the higher trimmed vehicles they are much cheaper.

I'm going the Tricon approach -- to each his own, but what I purchased clearly had the best value. In my case though, that's a Lariat Ultimate. Lmao, just kidding... In all seriousness though, the Lariat has factory leather (which I like), and is available with pretty much any option you can get on any other truck. Some are definitely superfluous IMO, but just don't check that box.

‘yes replacing it with the same hitch. I read where one owner had concluded the cause was the curved hitch pin.

I would just be careful to judge others based on their purchases. It goes both ways.

I’m not even half way done with my 30s but I had zero problem paying off my 19 KR 350, and lifting it before I hit 1k miles.

I could do a lot financially, pay off home, finance my young kids college education, etc, no one knows everyone’s situation. I’m blessed and lucky, it’s not daddy’s money. My truck cost more than my daddy’s house.

I always figure knowing the prices of these trucks- you are doing well in life no matter the trim. They are all expensive, and in some cases needed purchases, because you’ve got money tied up in trailers and hobbies. Those aren’t cheap!

Agree.

I race motorcycles (road bikes) as a hobby. My teammate and I invest a Metric Crap Ton into it every year, way more than the normal by about 4-5 times as much as normal. But we also do it because we can. We like it that way. I have no problems with the guy next to me getting by on the minimum in the pits. Thats they we can afford it. What upsets me are those racers that skip bills or rack up credit cards they can't pay off to race. It a hobby, and it should be paid with expendable money.
