15K miles Service
Hi,
I'm at 15K miles (almost exactly at the 2yr mark, in 2 weeks..) and the computer is saying to get an oil change: what else should be done? Air and fuel filters? Rotate tires for sure.
All the services will be done at a Ford dealer: i know it's easy, but i nit very mechanically inclined and i really don't have the time to do it over the weekends. How much do you think it should cost?

Do not, under any circumstance, change your air filter anytime before the OEM schedule. In fact, running past the OEM schedule is not a bad thing, so long as the filters are in good condition.
I've not seen your vehicle, but is there not a little air-filter gauge on the intake? Those are actually fairly accurate vacuum devices, and are trustworthy.
Changing air filters too often can actually INCREASE your engine's wear, because filters will actually become more efficient as they are used. Air filters, as a generalization, will pass 90% of their total amount in the first 10% of their lifecycle. Hence overly frequent air filter changes actually allow more silica to pass into the engine! That leads directly to wear. Anyone who tells you that you need repetitive air filter changes every 15-25k miles is ignorant, or arrogant, or both. They are trying to make money and risk your engine in the process.

Fuel filters also don't need to be changed too frequently, for the same reason.
About the only reason to change filters early is if you have good reason to suspect a failure, or grossly over-dosed condition (say a bad load of fuel that results in bacterial growth in the diesel fuel, which blocks the filter media off).

I can't say I entirely trust the air filter restriction gauge. Mine indicated good when physical examination revealed a very nasty filter. Though I will admit I need to look at it more often to develop some kind of correlation to how dirty the filter is. The only time I actually look at it is at oil changing time (about once a month).
