You can buy them on line at Forddiesel.com for 9.95ec. or you local International truck dealership has them for about 11.00 or so.
As for the fuel filter Ford says 15,000 miles, Diesel Injection service say's every oil change and International says every oil change or no less then every other oil change. Your choice!!Grab ahold of your seat if you go to ford for the fuel filter!! MY Dealership wanted 54.00 ec for the fuel filter. International had it for 14.09 and later I bought 6 of them from diesel Injection service for 10.50 ec.
all International service filters are exact match as motorcraft just different box and price
International trucks has: air filters apx. 11.00, Fuel filters 14.00, oil filters 9.95, and any other parts for your powerstroke at huge saving over ford! Same filters just different box.
Forddiesel.com also has good pricing.
Diesel Injection Service also.
Ford says 15,000 on fuel filter change.
Diesel Injection Service says every oil change for fuel filter.
International Trucks says every oil change or no less then every other oil change. Your choice!
I have read a number of posts on oil filters, but few on air filters. I have a 2001 PSD with about 11K miles. I checked the air filter indicator and it read "change filter" (and the filter was dirty), but I haven't been able to find a motorcraft any where except Ford. What other brands are recommended and where are they available? Should I change the fuel filter at the same time? Thanks in advance for your answers.
Do drive in dusty conditions? I have 18k on my original air filter, and the restrictor gauge has barely moved. Now my gauge could be busted, but the filter looks pretty clean. I do not drive in dusty conditions much at all. Just curious.
I don't drive in "really dusty" conditions (I live in Waco, Texas), and my filter is really dirty. I tried to get one at International in Arlington, but there was no cross for the Motorcraft FA-1710 that is installed in my truck. I will replace it this next weekend (July 4th).
I've been wondering why my fuel mileage is less than when I bought the truck (New, it was 20-22 mpg on the road---now it is 18-19 mpg on the road).
