I've got pics of my '53 215 taken in '88 when I bought it. According to the guy I bought the truck from who bought it in 1960 said that it's never been overhauled (255k). I'm taking it out now getting to do a frame off restoration and those pics are what I'm going to use to put everything back together with. They got the greatest but if it's what you're looking for I could scan and get them to you.
If you would like, I will take pics of my 215, which is completely stock and untouched (except for the air cleaner) I'm the 2nd owner, the truck presently has 43,000 orig. miles, and lives tucked away in the back of my shop, awaiting restoration.
Plz let me know if you want them e-mailed, or whatever.
Ok, I will take them after work, I will try to get everything possible. After seeing them, if you need anything in particular, don't hesitate to holler,'an I'll get better shots for you.
I'd be interested in any pictures, too. I am currently restoring my '53 with a 215. The original eninge was replaced with a remanufactured engine at some point in it's life. It would be really helpful to see some photos of an untouched original.
I have some photos on my web site of my 215. Follow the link below. I didn't realize there were so many folks on here with 215's!
Hey fat fendered,
I was thinking about doing mine that original seafoam. Is that a horrbile color? I just have a lot of surface rust and cant tell if it would be bad to redo it the OG color.
Coolbeans,
I'd like to see your pics as well. I need to a place you can send them too, my work would probably have a fit if posted my info here (don't have internet access at home).
Fordtrk26,
I like the seafoam green (ok everybody stop laughing) but the sheridan blue looks real good. Chk out Fat Fender Ford link for a pic of truck with this color.
Fat Fender Ford,
Checked out your link, NICE....Your truck is looking good. I'm getting ready to build a garage for my truck, tired of it sitting outside. Miss driving it. My local paint shop that had samples of paint showed sheridan blue as a lt blue although the dk blue looks good. However they closed up, is there a place I can find a color sample cause I want to use an orig color on mine, especially since its going to remain a 6V truck too.
The light blue was probably Glacier Blue. It looks like a baby blue where Sheridan Blue is more of a navy blue. I have a paint chip chart but when I tried scanning it, the colors looked terrible. I can give it another try, if you like.
