I know it’s not a roll-up the but I just installed a DiamondBack HD cover on my ‘18 SCREW 4x4 and I LOVE IT! I was a little apprehensive about closing up the bed but the lockable and weatherproof storage will suit me well. I can also get up top now with my shooting tripod when I’m out coyote hunting so there’s also that.
I have one and love it. I used it today while hauling a snowblower in the bed. It took about 2 seconds to open it up. When you open the Peragon cover it's down in the bed out of view and takes up very little space. If you need the whole bed it would take about 20 seconds to complete remove it. You can put it in your back seat or just leave it home depending on what you're doing.
I have an x4, no issues with it. Winter ice can cause some issues but that can happen with most. i use it with a ladder rack for kayaks and it works great with it.
I really like this cover, do you mind rolling it up and taking some photos of the back bed, and how much space is there, and a shot out of the rear view mirror, to get an idea of what it looks like?

How easily removable is this cover? If say for instance, I like driving my truck around with and open bed, and just want this for security and waterproofing on road trips?
Hey Joe I have a 2015 Lariat. I got the Undercover Flex. I like that it doesn't the glass and you can drive with it folded up. My truck has BLIS and Back up camera and descent mirrors so seeing out the back isn't a big deal for me. When I have it folded up usuallybecause I have Hay roll in the back and can't see out anyway. They are pricey but very nice. I got lucky and got mine for $850 when I had the Line-X done, kind of a package deal. No leaks at all and a fully locking large trunk to boot. I'm 5'7" tall and with the 4x4 it's not too hard or heavy to flip up. ultimately I guess it comes down to what you're looking for in a cover. I wanted a hard cover so I could lock the bed.
Same for this one??? How easily removable is this cover? If say for instance, I like driving my truck around with and open bed, and just want this for security and waterproofing on road trips?

I'll try, it's warming up so it should be de iced from the rain.

Taking it out is easy, 4 bolts hold the cover to the rails and there are a few clamps holding the rails to the bed. Putting it on takes me time to line it up square. Mines half assed crooked because it was cold when I put it on and was sick of freezing lol, going to fix that this spring.

Thanks, nice to know its bolts and not a quick release deal, still not a huge deal.....Could be easily removable, and easy to put on for long trips and such.

I went cheap and bought the Tyger Auto T1 roll up cover from amazon. $180 for a 6.5' bed. I'm not too worried about security, and I wanted roll up so I can keep the front of my bed open. This is my first time owning a truck, so I don't really know what I'm going to like long term. I bought this one because it was cheap, seems to be well liked from those that have it, and if I decide I want something different down the road I don't have a ton of money invested in it.
My main driver was to have something that will keep stuff dry in the back of the bed for our camping trips or when we use the truck to go visit family with the truck and have clothes and other stuff in the back.
We had a serious storm roll through last night, 40-50 mph winds, heavy rain for over an hour. This morning I opened the tailgate and the bed was dry. We ill see if any leaks when the truck is moving.
I have the Pace Edwards Ultragroove retractable with the rails to install racks for bikes or ski box, etc., mounted over a DualLiner bed liner. Manual operation. locks in various positions. No leaks. Not a "cable-pull" release that can easily be defeated with a coat hanger. https://paceedwardsdirect.com/p/pace...oaAuTmEALw_wcB
How good of a job does it do for keeping rain out?
It does a good job. I do get a few drips but I have a bedrug so it's not noticeable. If I open it while there is still water on the lid I'll get some drips and also near the tailgate but I didn't install the tailgate seal so that's to be expected.
I'll also recommend the Paragon cover. Did a lot of research on these things, and though they're a little pricy, they had the best overall appeal to me. Thing that sold me was they're an American company and all components are made here. Had mine now for nearly a year on my '16. It had one issue with a seal tearing after I installed it, but customer service took care of it asap and no problems since. Actually sent me 2 extras in case it ever happens again. Lock works great and slides easily. I have not installed the tailgate seal as of yet, so a small amount of water does get in the rear of the bed in heavy rain. No complaints though. Takes up about 10" of bed when folded. Install went easy with good written instructions and excellent videos on their website. Highly recommend if you're thinking about a hard cover.
