Been seeing the Sherrod trucks for a few years now and finally checked one out. Seems like a great truck but highly overpriced. Curious everyone’s thoughts on them? I specifically ask because there’s one 2018 model that is still on the lot about 6 months later, down 20k now, and they still can’t sell it. Are the Sherrod trucks worth it or would you still go for the Raptor if that’s the other you were looking at?
I don't know where you live, but I've never seen one around here.....or even heard of Sherrod before your post.
I'd stick with a Raptor, if that is the style truck you are wanting.
I looked around at: Custom Lifted Ford F-150 Pickup Trucks by Sherrod and it looks like they do a lift, bigger wheels and tires, and some interior material improvements and interior and exterior accessories for the F150. From their page it seems like they care about the quality of their designs and workmanship.
The thing I did not see is what engine they start with and if they do anything to it.
For what they do, I'd guess their price would be pretty high for the functional content. Their page also has the mystical "Request Quote" button that makes me think their prices would scare folks away if they were posted there. What price are you seeing?
It had originally listed at 77, but is down to 58 currently. It looks like a great product, but unlike Shelby, Roush, etc. it’s nit a name I’ve really seen being well known. So with that and just the fact they aren’t able to sell it even after knocking off 20k, was looking see see if anyone on here knew much about them.

I looked up that dealer real quick. ALL the Sharrod trucks I saw on their website were XLT F150's....they claim/post an MSRP of $81K on one of them. Sooo...if this was on Jalopnik for Nice Price or Crack Pipe....I'd vote Crack Pipe. As in, you'd have to be on Crack to pay such money for a dressed up XLT.
Sherrod used to build conversion vans. Look at the quality of a 5 year old conversion van then decide if you want to pay extra for that.
Instead, negotiate a great deal on an unmoddified XLT truck. Take it to your local 4WP or similar shop and have a lift, wheels and tires put on. Then take to you local shop that sells Katzkins leather. Once you’ve done that the price will still be significantly less than the conversion truck.
Agree, $81,000.00 for a name most folks haven't heard of is crazy. Maybe in a few years they'll get their name to be as well-known as Shelby or Saleen etc. but right now that's not the case.

Reason: Changed an erroneous "it" to "is".
The only reason I can think of for someone doing it is if you don’t have the money and can’t pay to upgrade the truck after buying it. So, I can see where someone would pay a high interest rate over 8 years so they can get what they can’t afford. OP, that wasn’t directed at you, I’m just giving a general opinion here.
If you want a great looking modified truck, just take it to a shop and have them modify it to your wallets content.
The the biggest problem I see with one from a not-well-known conversion company is the huge markup you’ll pay. The off-road shop will still make their usual profit....but the dealership will double whatever that amount is for their profit. So, the off-road shop charges $7K to do their magic, then the dealership marks it up to $18K and lets you talk them down to $13K for the modifications.
Then, at the end, you’ll lose a ton of money when you eventually sell it. The Raptor is a much better option in my opinion.

The Sherrod is no different than a Tuscanny and neither can compare to the "factory" engineered Raptor.
You could easily purchase a new F150 and add on the same or similar parts for much less money.
Keep in mind that regardless of which route you take, neither will have the resell value of the Raptor nor will they have the Raptors exclusive suspension.
Haven't seen a Sherrod conversion around here but am seeing a number of Fords and Chevy's with the Rocky Ridge conversion kits on dealer lots.
No way I'd pay an extra $20k for one, local Chevy dealer has a 2500 gasser Rocky Ridge listed for over $74k, Ford dealer has a F-250 Power Stroke Rocky Ridge listed at $98,498.
That's crazy prices!
