Methonal injection using denatured alcohol

I was running methonal injection using washer fluid which is about 25% methonal .

got concerned with methonal related corrosion so I started adding different brands of green acholhol lube/conditioner which all claimed to protect metals and provide lube value.

well, the additives did not mix well with washer fluid . Upped the meth percent with no success in the green additive mixing.

decided to run pure denatured alcohol and found the green to mix perfectly. Engine runs amazingly well and top end sounds like it’s getting a lot of extra lube.

not cheap but effective.

the denatured alcohol is less of a fire hazard than methonal and gasoline.

i think he only aluminum in the engine is the intake manifold and the pistons . Would be nice to bore scope someday to see if the corrosion resistance is really there with the green additives.

power is great, egt’s are very low, engine hums so I plan to run this for a while.

I believe the mehtonal contect of winter washer fluid is about 49 Percent. That number is important because above that it will burn and could be a hazard if it sprays around your engine compartment. Careful of additives.

the percent methanol in wiper fluid depends on the temp rating of the mix. washer mix rated at -32°F is approximately 39%. but, if you notice...washer fluid levels vary in the bottles beciase the methonal can escape thru the pores of the plastic....so for -32°F is approximately 39%, that's for newly bottled washer fluid.

at 39% green additives do not mix at all and tend to float at the top of the methanol tank.

You got me thinking. The Snow boost juice cost more for shipping than the product. It appears methanol is available locally for racing but I need to do more research. Is it the same as for alcohol race engines? Banks also makes a preblended product.

Denatured alcohol cost 15 per gallon
the green ethical treatment cost 10 bucks and can treat 80 gallons

nt tabk is 5 gallons

yiu can buy pure meth on amazon for about 80 bucks for 5 gallons

washer fluid runs 2 to 4 bucks a gallon locally

the bad news is that methonal is toxic and an ounce of it will kill you. Half that will perm blind you.

You can add denatured alcohol to the washer fluid to boost the alcohol content.... but...using anything with water prevents you from using a corrosion in hi biting agent.

alcohol is not as volition ad methonal so it’s eadier to work with in terms of spontaneous combustion.

the preblended silutions would have a lot of value if they have a corrosion inhibitor that worked.

I tried a water base corrosion inhibitor that’s used in hot water systems and found that it blended well with washer fluid....but I was not sure how effective it was for actually preventing corrosion.
