53 recirculating heater.
53 recirculating heater.
Got the heater out. Big mouse nest behind it. Took it apart carefully. All seems to be in good shape. Just filthy. Motor was seized. Ordered a new one. Then thought about it, took motor apart, cleaned it all up. And it is running great. Guess I have a spare. I will use the new one when it comes. Sanded everything down. Primed and painted with a gloss enamel high temp paint. I am happy with the results. Just have to put it all back together and reinstall in the truck.
Not even really planning on using the heater as I am not planning on running the truck in the winter but a slight breeze blowing on the windshield is nice to defog it.
That why I like working on old things. Easier to work on. Simple design. I don’t know much about what I’m doing, but with all the help on here, I feel pretty good about doing it myself. Plus my boys are interested and have been helping out a lot.
