The floor of the cab was painted body color in the factory. My 54 was painted body color when I fixed her up in 1999. I think bedliner would make it harder to clean the cab out. Are you going to put a stock style floor mat in?
All of our firetrucks floors are rubber lined or some type of coating on them. Makes them real easy to just hose out with water
Are you really going to hose out your truck's cab after you get her all fixed up? You sure don't want to get the firewall cover wet. It is just oil impregnated cardboard if it is original. Here is a pic of my 55 after I put in a reproduced floor mat:
Looking around last night, saw a “headliner kit”. Does that include ceiling, back of cab around window, and tops of sides around door? To finish the interior, the other things I would need would be the kick panels and a floor mat?
I am hoping the 53 F250 is the basically the same as my 53 F500. I have posted this question before. People say they are basically the same. I have had real good luck with the parts I bought fitting so far.
Abe, that is beautiful! I like the mat and the ceiling!
Thanks!

To see a headliner not installed go to BJ Mayberrys thread called family 56. He just bought one.

Yes, the cabs interior is the same for all size trucks.
Not sure what to do with the gas tank hole behind the passenger side door. I moved gas tank back to under the driver side seat where it should be. Should I weld some sheet metal on the back side and fill with Bondo or put a rubber hose grommet in and filler hose with locking gas cap so no one can put gas in accidentally. Filling in he would be the right way to go.
I have a quart of the Crossfire Martin Seymour Meadow Green acrylic enamel paint. I need to prime the truck first. Do I have to stick with the same brand of primer or can I put a different brand on?
Which of the following ways would be easier? Paint the doors while on the truck or hang them up and paint? They are currently off the truck and all glass, trim, and handles removed.
