On the tag it says that the paint code from ford is M-14285, The truck is dark blue in some spots and i'm sure that is the original color. I want to know where I can find out more about the paint. Like exactly what color it is.
Uh, guys, unless I'm terribly confused - which happens pretty often - vermillion was only used as a name for RED. The code number is M-1722.
Ford of Canada may have used a different set of codes for F47's but I'd be surprised. My source shows M-14285 on the list for F1's in 1950 and is called "Sheridan Blue"
If I were you I'd look down the list on Jim's website and check out the 1950 - 54 entries under Sheridan Blue - Dupont 81501 and Ditzler 10428
It doesn't show that color for US '48 F1's, but it may have been a special order paint.
