Hi All Brutus My custom sport 1972 F250 will be going to the buddy's paint shop so Im seeking info through this post to speed things along, minimise mistakes, and be as cost effective as possible.
My buddy has made it clear that we need to turn this paint job around as quickly as possible...He doesnt want things left hanging waiting for parts..... Is there such a thing as a body clip master kit for all of the body side moldings/grill fasteners etc? I really could also use a new passenger side rear wheel opening molding, is this an LMC thing?
My hood is hard to open and the hood sags, are the original hood hinges rebuildable? Is there a source for NOS hinges?.. One of the other tenants who I share the big building I have both my tool truck(Ethyl) and the resto mod project(Edith)in has a 1968 F250 that he is redoing there in the building and the hinges he got from LMC seem to be light weight compared to the original..He hung them on the truck 2 months ago but hasnt installed the hood on these new hinges since he's still doing stuff in the engine bay.and the hood needed some surface rust clean up. Since his hood isnt attached yet, I dont know how these LMC hood hinges actually function...they just seem light weight/cheap for some reason to me....Ill spend the time and rebuild my original ones if quality rebuild parts are available and if that's possible...Help me get this done the best way please. Also needed are both hood side "F250 reflector" emblems---mine are pitted and not candidates for rechrome...are there NOS available or are these things only LMC also? I have read that LMC is better than not having, but whenever possible I want NOS. Best source for QUALITY new windshield and back glass gasket seals?
Other than the glass gaskets and the hood hinges the rest can be done any time after the paint is on could even drive it if you wanted to so I don't see the need for it to "hang around waiting for parts".
If it is not far from where the truck is parked to the paint shop everything can be pulled off including the glass and driven to the shop. This way you are not taking up room & time pulling it apart also.

Visited their Charlotte, NC store amazing what they had in stock. A coupe of items I got had D Carpenter tag on them but were same price as Carpenter. One item they didn't have in stock, they shipped for free to NY.
Thank you Dave.Fuzzface2 I intend to let my buddy and his crew do all the stuff related to painting...removal of glass, removal of body moldings ETC and of course reinstall of same. I like the idea of stripping the truck myself but I dont have the time and I know his crew wont like me bringing a bunch of parts in so they can figure out how to reassemble them. I tend to not do well with fresh paint regarding reinstallation anyway.... My only promise to my buddy is to pay him well and help make sure we dont allow this truck to linger around too long...he did my tool truck and has done many older cars and is really great plus he's a very nice person....his business has moved on to doing more specialty type cars so he is pickier than he used to be about how things get done. Im being as on top of it as I can be to both keep him happy AND to get my truck back as soon as possible also....my beater daily driver for the past 10 years is needing a bunch of looming work and Im not planning to keep it so this soon to be painted truck will take on that daily driver duty soon after paint. Most of my request in the original post really centered around where to find the BEST Quality parts available I hate junk parts...I would love to find brand new FORD stuff pay(much more ...yes) for it once...take care of it so I dont have to deal with it again...those LMC hood hinges the other tennant (where I store my tool truck) bought for his 68 are flimsy....

Is a place for NOS parts. Helps if you know the part number but, they have a good staff that can look parts up. Maybe if you made a list and sent it to them it might be easier.
