timeing chain -which one

ok guys my 78 351m needs the timeing chain i dont want two put the junk retarded one back in someone told me i can use one for the 351c so if i can what do i ask for at the parts store like what year -and does it fit right in whit out changing anything oh and thanks a lot

I'd suggest a decent aftermarket double-roller type with steel gears. They come with multi-keyway crank sprockets so you can set the cam timing "straight up" (i.e., without the factory retard).

I think aftermarket performance type chains for the most part will be set up "straight up".

Rollmasters are the most durable that I've found. They also make undersize sets, to tighten up a chain if it's too loose, which can be a problem on some 351/400's.
